I live in Ecuador and speak mediocre Spanish (it's always a work in progress) so it's easy for me to get retired westerners or latina's, but more challenging to find darker skin tones. I do have a makeover to edit with a friend who is of a deeper complexion, so I will get that posted. I appreciate your thoughts! Suzanne

Thanks for your comment, and you are 100% correct. This is the shift that needs to happen in society. The idea that women need to be beautiful, but not too beautiful, outspoken but not too threatening.....you know, the dissonance we have lived with for so long. I am happy that it is shifting, but it is a process for sure.

@@r.melindar.1349 Hi Melinda, most products are hypoallergenic so the real question is what are you allergic too? I would stay with non toxic “clean” brands. The best way to find out what each ingredient is is to go to EWG, the environmental Working Group, and put in every single ingredient and see where it lands on the toxicity scale. I wouldn’t trust any brands marketing campaigns about being non-toxic. As far as sunscreen, I would buy sunscreen separately. I know it’s an extra step and an extra purchase, but sunscreen dilutes foundation and other products. So you will get more bang for your back if sunscreen and foundation are not, mixed in a bottle. I hope this is helpful! Plus you want to be sure that the sunscreen is non-toxic.

@@LizzysStyleLoft hi Lizzy, many people are fond of beauty blenders or sponges. When I make up other people I sometimes use them for sanitary purposes but on myself I don’t. I prefer using my finger because the warmth helps soften it to the skin and prevents waste. I also think my fingers use less product as the sponge absorbs it. You do what you feel most comfortable with though! We all have our preferences 😄

Hi Linda, I am using Ben Nye Matte foundation, which actually doesn't look very matte. It's creamy and stays put. I use it in my pro work and love it. As far as color goes, that is impossible for me to say! I woul dlook into a location near you that carries it and see how they match people. SOmetimes they will use a photo and other times they want you to come in. I hope this helps!

Hi Linda, You can use the serum with any other product. Brown spots are best treated with a 1% or higher dosage of retinol to the affected area. A C serum will help to diminish the spots as well, but it takes time. Retinol and/or topical treatments like laser work the best. Hope this helps!
